About Me
Hi, I am Sushil Ammanaghatta Shivakumar. I am currently a PhD student under Prof. Philipp Terhorst at the University of Paderborn, working in the Responsible AI for Biometrics group. My research focuses on backdoor attacks in biometric systems. I completed my master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence at Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg.
Before starting my PhD, I worked as a research intern at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, where I worked on long-range music generation using foundation models. I also worked as a research assistant at Fraunhofer ISE, focusing on extracting structured information from scientific PDFs. Earlier, I was part of the Responsible AI group at MPI-SP, where I collaborated with Prof. Asia Biega and Lin Kyi on research related to deceptive design and GDPR compliance.
Research Interests:
Biometric security, privacy, and backdoor attacks in biometric systems.
